UK Dredging

UK Dredging (UKD) co-ordinates and performs the dredging task for all ABP ports. This includes maintenance dredging of docks, harbours, approaches, river jetties and major navigation channels such as the Sunk Dredge Channel in the Humber estuary. UKD also manages capital dredging projects on behalf of ABP, utilising its own plant where appropriate and contracting in additional resources.  UKD also contracts with external customers to provide both capital and maintenance dredging services throughout north-west Europe.

Established in 1996, UKD operates three trailing suction dredgers, a grab dredger and two plough/buoy-handling vessels. From its base in South Wales, UKD also operates a fully mobile Hydrographic and Land Survey Service for both its ABP and external customers.

UKD is committed to providing cost-effective and reliable dredging to all of its customers. UKD has strength in its ability to use the ABP Group's resources, including those of ABP Marine Environmental Research Ltd (ABPmer) for its environmental and support services.
