Goole is the East Coast’s premier inland port, handling nearly three million tonnes of cargo per annum. A highly versatile port, its principal trades include containers, forest products, steel and bulk cargoes.
Recent developments at the port have included a new timber terminal at Ouse Dock and the redevelopment of West Dock to accommodate the growing trade in steel and forest products. The construction of a new £1m railfreight terminal at West Dock North means the port is now equipped to handle full trainloads of cargo. Goole’s inland location affords easy access to the industrial areas of West and South Yorkshire and the North Midlands.
